It will initially be sold in China, but Dell did not announce any pricing for any of the three models.

Unusual styling touches are a pretty common sight when it comes to gaming laptops, and Dell’s mid-range G15 revision is no exception. The brand also announced an upgraded edition that includes a speckled paint job whether the purchaser is either ‘Spector Green’ or ‘Phantom Grey’ colour. Dell is a mum on which CPU is under the hood of the latest G15, but the company has said that it can be fitted with RTX 3000 series graphics.

Dell is aiming to spice up the mid-range gaming laptop market with a redesign of the G15 series recently introduced in China. While the notebook maintains the bulky profile and plastic construction of its contemporaries, the 2021 edition boasts a number of nifty interior enhancements and a fancy paint finish on the exterior.

The 15.6″ laptop will have three output versions, rounded out with a 115W TDP edition. While Dell has not officially confirmed any Intel/AMD CPU choices, Notebookcheck published leaks last week suggesting an Intel i5-10200H/GTX 1650 16GB RAM/512GB NVMe SSD combination on the basic 120Hz model, while a more potent version could include the AMD Ryzen 7 5800H/RTX 3060 duo and a blister 360Hz refresh rate monitor.

In order to contain all this strong technology, the G15 cooling system has been upgraded using Dell’s Alienware experience. There are also minor style updates to the chassis, including a redesigned hinge, 4-zone RGB lighting, and an option of four colours: Dark Shadow Gray, Obsidian Black, Phantom Gray with Speckles, and Spector Green with Speckles. Dell claims the laptop is painted with “low-VOC waterborne paint” that is rugged and environmentally friendly.

The revised G15 will first reach the Chinese market, while global release is scheduled to follow in the coming months.
